With their first drop of the NYC Capsule Collection, Kingz brings you a super sharp black gi, two sweet new t-shirt designs, and two of the slickest looking sweaters out there.

Without further ado… The NYC Capsule Collection:


Limited Edition NYC Jiu-Jitsu Gi

Let’s get started with the most exciting item: the NYC Jiu-Jitsu Gi! If you’ve never owned a black gi, this is definitely the one to have. If you’re all about the black gis, prepare to be blown away.

One of the heaviest gis in the Kingz lineup – with a 550 GSM jacket and 12 oz cotton drill pants – this gi was made to last. Seriously. You may find yourself passing it along to your children as some epic jiu-jitsu heirloom. If you’re wary about a heavier gi, don’t be. I think everyone should have at least one in their collection, if only for those cold weather or judo training days.

However, the best part of the NYC Jiu-Jitsu Gi is the styling. This thing is tight! All black, it features pops of orange embroideries, reminiscent of the orange-red of the bricks in older parts of the City that Never Sleeps. The gi also features slick black-on-black details, such as the “Kingz Kimonos” emblazoned across back and… my favorite… a Statue of Liberty on the ribcage and pants.

The NYC Capsule Collection also features two new t-shirt designs.

Keeping with the fresh New York aesthetic, the Est. Orange Bar Tee features a pop of orange on the front left chest and across the back, and “Kingz Kimonos” and “Est. 2011” in clean, urban font. Available in both black and white, the Est. Orange Bar Tee is classic, without being dull.

Looking for something that stands out a little more? The collection’s Statue of Liberty Tee is where it’s at. Available in a maroon or white, the t-shirt features a really cool distressed Statue of Liberty graphic in yellows and oranges. If you’ve ever looked out upon the big lady as she’s cast in that evening sunset glow, this tee just about captures that.

 
NYC Capsule Collection – Sweaters

And what collection is complete without some cozy sweatshirts or hoodies?? None, I tell you.

The Athletics Crewneck is about as clean as they come. All black and made from a premium cotton/polyester blend, it features the Kingz logo on the back collar and “Kingz Athletics” and other script emblazoned across the front in super preppy orange font. It’s high-brow, without being too snobby.

My personal favorite, however, might have to be the 1960’s Hoodie. Why? Because it features a nod to the influence of New York City wrestling on the development of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. Jiu-jitsu history buffs unite! All black and with a simple orange logo outlined on the front, the back contains a blurb about Rolls Gracie:

GI REVIEW: The One Vice

  This season’s new gi drop from Kingz Kimonos is a fresh take on a tried-and-true model: The One Vice Jiu Jitsu Gi . Kingz Athlete Spotlight: Jeysen Santiago dos Santos

  The Kingz team is full of some of the best Brazilian jiu-jitsu talent in the world, and some of our toughest competitors are Masters level athletes… including one of the best pound-for-pound Master 2 athletes in the world: Jeysen Santiago do Santos. jiu jitsu kimonos What does it take to earn that prestigious title?
